Our News & Events
Leland Family Ministries Mission Statement: To connect addicts,
offenders and
their families to the Love of God and direct them through the Word of God.
- Meth Free Project: We teach awareness and prevention in schools, and have a Boy and Girl Scout Patch Program to educate the youth about the dangers of drugs. Our education classes are also offered in the Jails, Prisons, and Juvenile Facilities, where they are educated on drugs and addiction. We hold the first-ever in the Nation court-ordered Supplementary Sentence Class which serves as a special condition of probation to educate those we are unable to reach in the jail. Two projects in the development stages are our Freedom From Addiction Weekend Outreach where we facilitate our education piece at your Correctional Facility Friday, Saturday, graduating the class on Sunday. Also in the works is our first ever Freedom From Addiction Conference which will be held in conjunction with Dr. Mary Holley, MD, Founder of MAMA’s, and Steve Box, author of Meth=Sorcery and The Leviathon.
- National Day of Prayer: First Thursday of May Leland Family Ministries is truly dedicated to praying for, and bringing hope to, those who have been affected by incarceration and addiction, as well as for the Judicial Branch of our local, state and national governing bodies, including those employed by these agencies. We have personally witnessed the effectiveness of prayer to accomplish full and complete restoration in the lives of individuals and their families in Polk County and around the country.
- Community Outreach Programs: We are currently forming Recovery For Life City Wide Outreach Resource Teams in three area communities, collaborating with local Citizens, Faith Leaders, Chamber of Commerce, Police Departments, and Community Business Leaders to bring awareness and education to confront addiction, embrace recovery and invest in community.
- The Recovery For Life Outreach: Our weekly recovery groups are held in several areas throughout Polk, Pasco and soon coming Hillsborough Counties. Here members receive a Life Recovery Bible and a corresponding workbook that takes them throughout the Christian Twelve Steps and gets them plugged into a body of believers to encourage them on the process of recovery.
- Community Resources: Those enrolled in our programs and groups have an opportunity for services from our Food Pantry and our Warehouse which consists of clothing and household items and furniture to help get them back on their feet.
- Our Christmas Angels Program adopts children of those enrolled in our programs to provide a Bible, a gift and an item of clothing. These children are also given a special Christmas Party where the story of Jesus is shared.
- Monthly Celebrations: This is a great time for the City Wide Outreaches to come together and celebrate those in recovery with food, music and fun for the entire family.
- September is National Recovery Month and we celebrate with special guest speakers, food, music, community vendors, live and silent auctions and testimonials of those who have made it in their recovery as well as those still walking through the process.
